1989-1990 Outstanding Service Award Recipient

ARTHUR HAN-NAN WU, PHD

A native of Tainan, Taiwan, Dr. Wu came to the United States in 1962. He obtained a M.S. degree from Ohio State University and a Dr.Sc. degree from George Washington University. He has taught at George Washington University, the U.S. Naval Academy, and University of the District of Columbia for 14 years as an adjunct professor. He is currently working for the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Headquarter as a senior engineering consult. He was selected as the Engineer of the Year (1985) by the Navy, and is listed In Who's Who in America. His services to the Taiwanese Community include: (I) President of the Capital Area Taiwanese Federal Credit Union, (2) Director of the North America Taiwanese Professors Association, and (3) Director of the Washington D.C. Chinese-American Professional Association. In 1985 while serving as the NATFA D.C. Chapter President, Dr. Wu, with the cooperation of Mr. Andre Yang ,then President of TYAF, established the Outstanding Taiwanese Youth Awards and "Taiwan Night". Since then, he has been dedicating his time serving as member of the Youth Awards Review Board and assisting in the Youth Funds' annual "Taiwan night" events.
